What is XOR Gate? XOR Gate Explained

An XOR gate (Exclusive OR gate) is a logical gate that performs an exclusive OR operation on two binary inputs. It produces a true (1) output only when the number of true (1) inputs is odd, and a false (0) output when the number of true (1) inputs is even.

From the truth table, we can see that the XOR gate outputs a true (1) value when the inputs A and B are different, and a false (0) value when the inputs A and B are the same.

It is commonly used in digital circuits and computer science. It can be used to perform logical operations, such as addition without carry, subtraction, or comparison of two bits.

Multiple XOR gates can be combined to create more complex logic circuits, such as adders, subtractors, or multiplexers. The XOR operation is also a fundamental operation in cryptography and error detection/correction algorithms.
